EP 01 Várzea Paulista - SP

WITCHES, SAINTS, AND BREWERS

Our beer expert Cilene Saorin and our beer enthusiast Laíza Dantas arrive in Várzea Paulista to prove that it was women who pioneered beer production and, for that reason, were sidelined and burned at the stake throughout history. At Marta's bar, in front of a soccer field, along with our guest and women's soccer coach Gerlândia de Oliveira, the girls roll the ball around bringing witches, saints and brewers into the game. It feels like the final episode, but this is just the beginning of the season!

EP 02 Ribeirão Preto - SP

WHY DO WE DRINK?

We arrive in Ribeirão Preto – the city that was once the coffee capital, the draft beer capital, and currently can be considered a pioneer of craft beer in the State of São Paulo. In a city almost more enthusiastic about beer than our presenter Laíza Dantas, we will understand why humanity has such an appreciation for the act of drinking, helping individuals and cultures to survive, evolve, and sing emotionally in karaoke! In the mansion of Palacete 1922, amidst hints of philosophy, heightened sensitivity, and elegant sips of beer, we talk with our guest and teacher Gleice Priscila dos Santos.

EP 03 Jundiaí - SP

WHICH GLASS SHOULD I CHOOSE?

Our beer sommelier Cilene Saorin, accompanied by avant-garde artist Laíza Dantas, arrive in the city of Jundiaí: the land of grapes! Together, they explore the city's wine route and show that, despite being considered antagonistic drinks, wines and beers have much in common throughout history. We interview beer and wine sommeliers to learn the secrets of one of the oldest and most dangerous professions in gastronomy. At The Beer Market bar, while tasting beers in different glasses, we talk with our guest and artist Bianca Foratori about the perception of value in the world of beverages and art.

EP 04 Rio Claro - SP

THE RISE AND REIGN OF YEAST

Our food engineer Cilene Saorin, accompanied by our adult party yeast Laíza Dantas, arrive in the city of Rio Claro. Together, they show that beer production is not magic. To maintain quality standards and produce large volumes, the real business is science and technology. Among the tanks of Mazzeo Brewery, we welcome our guest and geographer Mariana Lopes Nishizima to discuss how humanity reached the mark of 8 billion people on the planet and has been making use of its natural resources.

EP 05 São Sebastião - SP

ALCOHOLIC EXCHANGES

Beach lover Laíza Dantas takes master brewer Cilene Saorin for a dive into the beaches of São Sebastião: the oldest city on the north coast of São Paulo. In this atmosphere of breeze, sea, feet in the sand and a beer in hand, they talk about the first alcoholic exchanges that took place on this continent. On one side, the indigenous peoples and the Cauinagens (process of producing the fermented food-drink made from cassava called Cauim). On the other side, the alcoholic combo of the Portuguese colonizers: wine and beer, also foods. At Manacá Restaurant, we talk with our guest, teacher and activist Camila Aquino dos Santos, to understand how the exploitation of the territory influences life in this region.

EP 06 Sertãozinho - SP

WHAT IS BRAZIL'S MOST BELOVED DRINK?

Is it possible to say which drink is the face of Brazil? Is it cachaça or beer? In a competitive spirit, Cilene Saorin and Laíza Dantas arrive in Sertãozinho – the land of sugarcane – to investigate the country flavour of our Brazilian identity. After listening to enthusiasts of both drinks, knowing that Brazilians really like a good mix, Cilene Saorin treats us to a drink that promises to steal half an hour of any bar conversation: a beer caipirinha! During a visit to the Sugarcane Museum, we talk to our guest, actress and educator Marion Emidio, who found her home and recognition in the countryside.

EP 07 Jarinu - SP

NATURE WORKS WITHOUT HASTY

Our beer philosopher Cilene Saorin, accompanied by the wise barroom expert Laíza Dantas, visit the peaceful city of Jarinu: chosen by the WHO and UNESCO as having the second best climate in the world! In this city that attracts tourists seeking tranquility and encounters with nature, we discover a style that can be considered by many as the "Big Bang" of beers – the so-called "wild beers". Amidst the trees of Vila Sapori, we talk with our guest and environmental entrepreneur Becky Weltzien about how the concept of terroir has gained space in beer culture and can influence the sensory perceptions of the beverage that reaches our table.

EP 08 Piracicaba - SP

ARE YOU THIRSTY?

Our cup-raising champion Cilene Saorin, accompanied by multi-athlete Laíza Dantas, arrive in the city of Piracicaba. In the city whose landmark is a large river, we talk about the importance of water for the planet, the human body, and beer. At Dezoito Restaurant, on Porto Street, we welcome our guest and athlete Alessandra Santos de Oliveira for a conversation about sports and beer consumption. Is it possible to be an athlete and have a beer?

EP 09 Ipeúna - SP

I DRINK AND THE RIVER FLIES!

Beer is an ancestral beverage. To tell the story of how our ancestors went from being hunter-gatherers to becoming sedentary farmers and beer producers, we landed in the city of Ipeúna – a region that is part of an important archaeological site with ancestral artifacts dating back more than 8,000 years! We investigated why this region, with its vast geodiversity, has been home to humans for so long... At Camping Passa Cinco, we talked with our guest and biologist Juliana Cristina Scotton: a guardian of archaeological artifacts passed down from generation to generation.

EP 10 São Paulo - SP

HOW MANY BOTTLES DOES IT TAKE TO MAKE A METROPOLIS?

The city of São Paulo has many bars, events, and excitement. It's so fast-paced that sometimes it's hard to keep up... Our presenters get lost in this metropolis in search of various industrial and cultural facilities that were built by breweries in the 19th century, contributing to its intense urbanisation process. At the Duas Irmãs Brewery, we talk with our guest and communicator Gerô Barbosa about her contribution to the urban and social history of this frenetic city.
